How do our local produce deliveries work?
We deliver fresh produce from farmers and independent producers in and around Hertfordshire to your front door.
We take sourcing locally seriously and are always looking for new producers in the local area. In most cases our boxes are exclusively from the surrounding area but occasionally we do have to substitute an odd item during the year from our carefully sourced European suppliers to keep some variety in your box. We never use anything that has travelled by air and continue to work to source from as close as possible to reduce your food’s miles. To find out more about our producers check our their page.
Most people start with a seasonal mix of fruit and vegetables, which can be customised by telling us anything you don’t want to receive before you checkout. You can choose a size to suit your family, and can add a free range meat package, or all the ingredients for a no hassle meal if you choose.
You can choose a weekly or fortnightly delivery to make paying for your box as easy as possible, or can simply order a one-off trial box. You can pause your deliveries or cancel completely at any time after your first regular box is delivered in My Account. Any changes will need to be made before the cut-off day to affect that week’s box (Monday at noon)
Once you have ordered a regular box delivery you can add anything from the additons section – be it granola, jam, steak or eggs for a one off delivery that week or we offer of the option a regular delivery of eggs.
You can mix and match your veg and meat boxes to suit you – you may wish for veg for 2 each week and meat for 4 each fortnight, simply add each box to your basket and check out. Each box can be edited after that and paused as required so if you change your mind or your needs change that’s absolutely fine.
St Albans deliveries
We deliver in St. Albans on Thursdays and deliver between 9am and 6pm. Orders must be placed by noon on the Monday that week to qualify for the next delivery. We currently only deliver to AL1, AL2, AL3 and AL4, but will hopefully be adding other delivery days and postcodes soon so do get in touch if you live further afield in Hertfordshire and we will see what we can do.
Any items requiring refrigeration will be delivered in chilled and insulated packaging so you don’t need to be in to receive your delivery. You can nominate a safe place or neighbour and your goods will remain in perfect condition for 12 hours. Please bear in mind the weather and provide shelter and shade for your box where required, an empty recycling box is useful for this. All packaging is reusable so please leave this out in a dry spot for your Box Local driver on your next delivery day. We absorb the cost of this packaging so can only keep box prices low if you help us in this way.
