The veg men of Bromham

LB Stewart and son have been growing vegetables since 1970 in the village of Bromham in Bedfordshire. Leonard started out growing lettuce for local shops and markets, and soon added other vegetables to supply demand in the area. Throughout the following decades, he has worked together with other local veg and fruit growers, ensuring that the farm shops and markets they supply can get a great variety of locally grown produce year round. His son Paul (pictured) now works in the business carrying on the family tradition of fresh and local produce which changes week on week throughout the seasons.

From Bramleys to broad beans, and courgettes to cauliflower, if it grows in this climate they offer it to us as and when it is available. To avoid unnecessary waste, many vegetables are picked to order so you will receive it in your box the day after it was plucked from the ground. It doesn’t come much fresher than that!
